Wrapping up Foundum Unplugged

Monday, December 2nd, 2013

Once more Barcelona turned into an important hub of the European Startup Ecosystem!

Last week we took our matching engine offline and hosted our anual event Foundum Unplugged. We invited top digital startups from Europe like Bettermarks, Ufo Start or GoEuro from Germany; CL3VER, GowithOh, PackLink, ReviewPro, Whisbi, and Treeveo from Spain; JUSP and Forever (Italy); Support Your App from the Ukraine; TagTagCity from Belgium or Docplanner, Buzzoek & Presentain from Holland.

They all had the chance to be matched with around 50 Private Investors, VC’s and accelerators like Accel, Active Venture Partners, Adara Venture, DFJ Esprit, Cartagena Capital, Early Bird, Enisa, Faraday, Fedelity Ventures, Inveready, Kibo Ventures, Mola, Orange Startup Ecosystem, Prime Ventures, Quantum Partners, Techstars, Startup Bootcamp, Ventech, 360 Capital Partners, Wayra or Inspirit looking for attractive investment opportunities. All together there was access to €5 billion of investment under management

Hosted at Arts Santa Monica located at the foot of Las Ramblas, the founders had the chance to meet with investors in 1-on-1 Matching sessions. In two sessions of about two hours each, the entrepreneurs had the opportunity to pitch their idea directly to investors. In total it’s been around 690 different matching sessions that took place over those two days. On average one entrepreneur had 7 investors matched to him/her whereas the investors were able to speak with 16 entrepreneurs each. The investors where grouped into Seed, Early and Expansion sections.

Further some cool startups like Droiders, ChicPlace, Jusp, Cipasso and Bettermarks were pitching live one stage. The most impressive pitch was done by the Pitch Doctor Christoph Sollich about RydeMyPony.  This video is worth a click! And not miss out mentioning the 3D food printer, run by Natural Machines who invited us to some future trend 3D Food.

We hope all of you who came enjoyed the event – we definitely did!! Here are some pics!

See you next year at Foundum Unplugged 2014!!!
