Pathways2014 and Foundum Unplugged – a Wrap Up!

November 2nd, 2014

It is hard to describe 3 days of networking, pitches, keynotes and 1-on-1 meetings in just one word… we try anyway: it was “INSPIRING”!

Together with the WhiteBull Team we did our first joint adventure and started the TechChampions Tour back in April touring through the major tech hubs of Europe which ended in the Gran Final at Pathways2014. The winners from the TechChampions Tour were chosen and invited to join us in Barcelona together with other entrepreneurs, startup supporters, investors and influencers of the European startup ecosystem.

Founders received mentoring and coaching support in the Bull Pen Sessions and had the chance to meet investors directly in 1 on 1 meetings in the Foundum Unplugged afternoon. We of connected  more than 100 startup founders and  investors directly to each other. Participants were Wayra, Accel, Kibo, ACTIVE, DFJ Esprit and many more…

There were other great speakers like Ken Morse who shared his “Sell or Die” key insights on the importance of sales in a startup or Jamey Sperans from Morgan Stanley who analysis if we are yet in another VC bubble or not. If you like to learn more about how VC’s should improve, just check out this post about Accel, DFJ, ACTIVE and DN Capital sharing their thoughts on Venture Capital today.

One main highlight was Greg Mortenson’s appearance on stage, best selling author of Three Cups of Tea, Stones into Schools, and Listen to the Wind, who shared his inspiring story of building more than 190 schools for 85.000 children in Afghanistan and Pakistan. He who is working on the other side of the world would be grateful for any kind of technical support who would make life easier in rural areas where access to technology, internet, electricity and thus education is scarce.

The whole event closed off with the Bully Awards Gala night, hosted by BarcelonaActiva, in the historic chapel at the Macba Museum in Barcelona.

Thanks to everyone who came to Barcelona and we look forward to the next event in 2015!!
